Curious Nonsense

I thought I'd give a short description of my novel-in-progress, almost like a back cover summary.  It's (currently) called Curious Nonsense, and here's what it's about:

When a disastrous accident threatens the imminent collapse of two worlds, the woman responsible must race a power-hungry maniac to recapture the only creature that can restore balance.

Louise Carson is a Unis, one of the few able to move between her homeland of Normus and the strange Mirora without harm. She is a relatively new recruit for the Unis Portal Force, the organization that controls and monitors the border between the two worlds. Louise has finally passed her final qualifications only to be assigned the boring job of Portal Guard night after night, to her immense frustration. Then a mysterious accident sees the Looking Glass Portal smashed, an accident which seems to be Louise's fault. This allows the legendary creature that keeps the worlds balanced to escape from his prison. Suddenly, impossible things are happening in Normus, and things start making sense in Mirora, nicknamed Wonderland by the seven-year-old Alice when she visited many years ago. Things go from bad to worse as the border between the two worlds starts to break down and collapse, threatening to destroy them both. Louise now has a new assignment: find and capture the creature and bring it back to Mirora before both worlds collapse. Louise thinks this an easy enough task until she discovers that someone doesn't want her to succeed...someone with a long-standing grudge who will stop at nothing to enslave the creature and take control of both Normus and Mirora.
